The Small Abingdon Summerhouse

The Small Abingdon Summerhouse is an oval shaped summerhouse, spacious enough to enjoy outdoor living all year round. The Abingdon is the perfect garden retreat and can be used as a dining room, an office, peaceful studio or even a music room.

Handcrafted by skilled carpenters, this British made summerhouse, is constructed from Western Red Cedar and features a beautiful Cedar shingle roof. Cedar is renowned for its resistance to the effects of the rain, sun, pests and time, making it the ideal choice for a long lasting look of beauty.

The Small Abingdon Summerhouse has 2 sets of opening windows together with a set of double doors in leaded glass. All doors are constructed in Western Red Cedar using traditional mortice & tennon joinery. A double glazing upgrade is available in either plain glass or plant-on lead.

This luxury cedar Summerhouse, has solid brass fittings and a high cedar shingle roof, with elegantly cambered eaves and benefits from a lined interior giving a clean finish. A tongue & groove floor comes as standard and an insulation & double glazing upgrade is offered for those wishing to use their summerhouse all year round.

Chelsea Summerhouses are offered with a market leading 10 year guarantee and all timber used in manufacture is sourced from managed forestry. The Small Abingdon is available fully installed to your pre-prepared base.

FAQs

Do I need a base?

Yes, your Summerhouse must be erected onto a level hard standing base, ideally in concrete, smooth paving slabs or decking.  Base plans are available for all summerhouses. Please note that if a base is found to be more than 20mm out of level, the installers may be unable to install.

Can you install this summerhouse for me?

Yes, all Chelsea Summerhouses are available installed by the manufacturer.

Do you have summerhouses on display?

Yes. We are not an "Internet company". We exist in the real world!

Our display centre and offices are located at Trowbridge Garden Centre, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 0DT. We have a variety of buildings from our range available to view. Obviously with literally hundreds of models available and the option to customise, we do not have every model, but we do have a "bit of everything" so that you can get a feel for the quality and options on offer.

We are open Monday - Friday 9.30am - 5pm.  At weekends we are open by prior arrangement only, please call us for an appointment to view.

How long will delivery be?

All Chelsea Summerhouses are hand made and are available 6-8 weeks from order.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes, all Chelsea Summerhouses carry a 10 year structural warranty.

Please note that wood is a unique, natural product and the finish on timbers will vary. Variation will be seen as coarse or fine grains and shades of colour. Such properties are normal in wood and cannot be considered as a defect, they have to be accepted as an unavoidable property of the product. Timber will shrink or swell according to weather conditions and along with warping are natural properties of wood.

Do I need planning permission?

Many kinds of buildings and structures can be built in your garden or on the land around your house without the need to apply for planning permission. These can include sheds, garages, greenhouses, summerhouses, etc. Click below for further information.
